The purpose of the Use of Certification Marks Policy is to ensure that all employees, committee members, contractors, personnel of external bodies or individuals working on behalf of ABAC Certification understand the company’s requirements in relation to the proper and legal use of ABAC Certification and the relevant national accreditation symbol issued by the accrediting body, e.g. UKAS, DAC.

This policy supported by detailed procedural control described in CRI-GMP-013 which sets out the requirements for use of national accreditation symbols in conjunction with the certification logo of ABAC Certification.

Before using the certification mark, registered clients are requested to ensure that they comply with the following rules.

  • The Accreditation Bodies national accreditation symbol and ABAC Certification mark may only be used by registered clients of ABAC Certification issued with an accreditation body’s accredited certificate.
  • The company’s scope of registration is detailed on the Certificate of Registration. The certificate also gives information regarding the company name and registration address. Any subsidiary companies and addresses not included on the certificate are not covered by registration.
  • The national accreditation logo (crown & tick) must always be used in conjunction with the ABAC Certification mark of certification.
  • The certification mark may only be used in correspondence, advertising and promotional material, which relates to the company’s scope of registration.
  • The national accreditation symbols shall not be used in any way that might mislead the reader about the state of an accredited organisation or imply in such a manner that certification applies to activities that are outside the scope of certification.
  • In all cases, the registration number issued on your certificate of approval must be quoted directly underneath the certification mark, together with the scope of approval for which registration has been granted if other services are offered

This policy shall be reviewed annually, and amendments will be proposed and agreed by the Impartiality Committee as per ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015.
