Role Description
The Lead Auditor (LA) shall play a lead role in completing the client certification audits. The LA role will be to plan, schedule, perform and follow up in Certification Audits of ABAC Certifications client’s management systems in a timely and efficient manner. The LA will lead the audit team and aim to be an audit specialist in one or more of the following Management System Standards, ISO 37001, ISO 37301, ISO 31000, and related systems. Furthermore, they will be an integral part of the ABAC Certification auditor pool.
LA will report directly to the Certification Manager for all audit-related activities regarding planning and coordinating ISO certification client audits per ABAC Certification procedures, ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 and ISO 19011:2018.
LA role will be a combination of office, client site and home working, and the successful candidate must therefore hold a full clean driving license (preferred). LA will be required to work on-site with different clients, get to know their business, and assess their products, processes, systems, or services, ensuring compliance with national and international regulations and standards.
LA shall promote and act as a brand ambassador for ABAC Certification while acting ethically, professionally, integrity, and impartiality during all ABAC Certification activities. Lead Auditor shall follow company rules and promote ABAC Certification services to clients to optimize business performance and “Make Excellence a Habit”.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Position holder will be responsible for:
- Independently performs third-party certification audits for Management System Standards, including ISO 37001, ISO 37301, ISO 31000, and related management systems.
- Determine the scope and objectives of the Audit.
- Obtains background information about the client, conducts client due diligence risk assessment, and reports the activity results to the Certification Manager.
- Prepares audit plan (including date and duration), as per the Audit time, and liaisons with the client to schedule and plan audit activity with customers.
- Manages a team of auditors and other team members (subject-specific experts, associate auditors) during the audit project. Communicate with Auditees and Team to ensure efficient team working.
- Prepare audit checklists for each audit project assigned.
- Conduct audits according to the audit plan.
- Conduct Documentation Review of the client management system.
- Select and assign audit team members during the Audit 10. Leading the audit team at all stages, including Opening and Closing Meetings.
- Resolution of any problems arising during the Audit.
- Ensuring adequate sampling. Evaluating the evidence and ensuring that the audit findings and audit trail are reported per ABAC Certification procedural requirements.
- Record and report observations. Preparation of the audit report and presentation of the findings to the client.
- Ensuring that any quality comments/ deviations on the audit report are closed out during the review process.
- Seeking client corrective action and verifying the same. Provide timely and accurate reviews of customer corrective action and closure.
- Safeguard audit documents and ensure that they are complete.
- Preparing audit pack for Certification Committee review.
- Always act professionally always abide by the non-disclosure agreement. In case of any conflict of interest, act ethically to disclose it to the Certification Manager.
- Reporting to the Certification Manager for operational and control on the management of audit services provided to the clients.
- Participate in the Accreditation body witnessed assessments.
- Maintains appropriate audit credentials and pursues the advancement of those credentials and other related credentials described in the ABAC Certification Documented Management System.
- Strictly conduct all assessment work under ABAC Certification procedures.
- Reports all customer complaints, problems, or system deficiencies to the Certification Manager.
CORE COMPETENCES
Academic Qualifications:
* Be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
Professional Qualifications:
* A Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 9001, ISO 31001 or 37001 would be very advantageous, as would knowledge and understanding of ISO 17021:2015
* Trainer the Trainer Certification
Work Experience:
* At least four (4) years’ experience as an auditor in management system certification audit, two (2) years of which as a Lead Auditor.
* 2 years of experience as a trainer.
* Knowledge of business processes and application of systems standards.
* An excellent communicator who can liaise with, and influence, a wide audience including staff, external groups and committees.
* Good verbal and written communication skills and an eye for detail.
* Experience in preparing high quality written documentation.
* Highly organized, with a proven ability to manage a number of projects at any given time. Be self-motivated, flexible and have excellent time management/planning skills.
* Be able to work under pressure.
* Be an enthusiastic and committed team player.
* Be computer literate and can manage multiple files, records and back up processes. Be pragmatic and have an efficiency driven and solution-oriented mind-set.
* Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills in the English language are essential.
* Prepared to travel, both nationally and internationally as business needs dictate necessary.
